Work Crew FAQs:

  • Since there is work entailed with this role, we are looking for volunteers who would not normally attend Man Camp. Minimum age is 18 (15 if accompanied by an adult), and must have the ability to stand for 2 hours at time and lift 25 pounds.

  • Work Crew is a volunteer and not a paid position; however, you do receive free lodging, all meals, and an awesome t-shirt. There is also down time that you can use to explore the camp.

  • Arrive by 6:00 pm on Friday May 17, 2024 and leave after 1:00 pm on Sunday May 19, 2024.

The work crew will be expected to work in the following areas: AM Kitchen prep, PM Kitchen prep, Dish washers, and Dining Hall Servers. The expectations of the work crew are of a volunteer staff role in comparison to a guest experience. The work crew are required to attend training 3 hours prior to the first meal.

  • Most of the Work Crew will eat one hour before each scheduled meal. The only exception is the kitchen staff will need to arrive a little earlier to help with breakfast prep. After work crew eats, they will serve the meal, clean the dining hall and reset for the next meal. There is usually a short break between breakfast and lunch. After the dining hall is cleaned and reset for dinner, the work crew has a longer break before coming back to eat for dinner. After dinner, the work crew will clean and reset for breakfast the next day, then the rest of the evening is free.

  • Work Crew will need to begin the Sunday shift 60 minutes before breakfast. Keep in mind that at the end of the weekend there are a few additional cleaning tasks that will require the work crew to stay about two hours after the final meal. If the work crew is carpooling with guests, adequate time must be scheduled between the last meal and the departure time so that the work crew can finish their responsibilities.
